Shelyn's touch on the world is ancient, but subtle. She is the goddess of the positive aspects of love in the broadest sense possible. Goddess of the things that inspire happiness, joy or wonder. She both seeks to create these things, and to preserve them. Shelyn is one of the Golarion deities that most embodies their goal, perhaps matched only by her brother Zon-Kuthon and the chaotic Calistria. She is truly beautiful in more than just the physical sense. She makes exemplary company and almost any who encounter her can find something in her that appeals to them. Detractors of Shelyn point out that she struggles with contradictions, and the necessities of living in the real world. It is said that she hates death, for stealing beauty from the world, and yet has no answer for Pharasma when she points out that, from death comes new life, such as a plant that fertilizes the soil, and so comes the chance for new beauty.
